Hi I’m Jimmy! Better known as a kayaker, I have been involved in kayaking and water sports from a young age. Surf life saving, sprint kayaking, ocean ski paddling, team boats and surfing. I have also enjoyed running as a way to keep fit and have found that it helps support competing in a range of kayaking races and events. A weekly long run in the Port Hills is a regular outing for me. I enjoy hitting the trails to unwind and if I’m feeling good; pushing the uphills. Recently I’ve become less of a kayaker and more of a runner with a dabble in road running events and even cutting laps on the track! I recently completed the Dunedin Half Marathon and look forward to shaving some time off my half marathon PB…hopefully on a not so windy day! I have a lot of experience in coaching from the kayaking world and am excited to transfer my skills from kayaking to Live to Run Trail and help others gain confidence, but most importantly enjoy time out in the hills and on the local trails.
